6 Ways that I Make Time for Me

Happy Sunday!

Yesterday, I blogged about how important that us mothers take time for ourselves. See post here. I had even shared my first printable: Empowerful Ways to Put Yourself First. You can download the printable here.

As promised, here are 6 ways that I make time for me.

1. Waxing My Eyebrows

It doesn’t sound like much, but I love that I can spend $10 every month to have my eyebrows waxed. I always feel like a new woman when it’s done.

  1. Saturday Morning

Almost every Saturday morning, I laze in bed. Sometimes, my 11 yr old will come in and snuggle with me. Most times, it’s a time that I can relax and not rush and do anything.

  1. Night Out with Friends

My girls are old enough that I can go out with friends for the evening. It’s important to keep those friendship bonds by spending time with my friends…ok…enjoy a glass of wine too!

  1. Writing for this Blog

By writing, it gives me an opportunity for self reflection. It’s something I enjoy, it never feels like work.

  1. Manicure/Pedicure

This past Christmas, my oldest asked me what I wanted for Christmas. Every year, the response is the same “Oh, I don’t need anything”. This time, I thought about it, and told her that I would like foot soaker. Since I’ve moved, I haven’t been able to soak my feet and give myself a pedicure. Guess what? She bought me the foot soaker and it’s probably the most used gift. I appreciate her thoughtfulness.

  1. Shopping

As a single parent, being on one income, it’s not too often that I get to splurge on shopping. It’s more of a calculated time for myself, but I did score these two cute tops from Suzy Shier yesterday:

I love the clothing line from Suzy Shier. Great for work but you can also dress up your jeans for casual days.

Did you take yesterday’s challenge? What are your best self-care tips that are not on the list? Please share in the comments below!

I love your 6 ways for YOU!!! I will go a few weeks and feel drained and then realize that I haven’t spent a dime or time on myself. That is when I will take a Saturday morning and recharge. Recharging is needed for me to be a better mum, wife and all around good person. Can’t wait till summer for a pedi….. To cold right now… 😉
