Small Steps Every Day

Good Morning Reader(s)

How was your weekend?

Mine was fairly low-key. I attended my staff appreciation event Friday night. It was a lot more fun than I expected. It was a highland games theme night.  Surprisingly, I was one of the few that did not wear a Scottish kilt.

Note to self: Dress up next year.

Games included a sheep toss, learning/reciting  a Gaelic poem, leaning a highlands dance, hammer toss and a few others.  A few of us might have gotten a little competitive and one of them might have been me. But I won’t confirm or deny. haha

Stop looking at the end result. Instead, think of what small step you can take today that will get you one step closer to your goal. Oh! Don’t forget to celebrate the small wins along the way! Read more at www.ecurosie.com

It’s Monday again, and you know what this mean… another Motivational Monday!

How many times, have you wanted to accomplish something, but you end up failing because the goal was too big? Or perhaps, you get so flustered and you’re not even sure where to begin?  For example, I want to write a book. I want to rebrand my blog.I want to lose 25 lbs. Or I want to travel around the world.

Sometimes, we get so overwhelmed and defeated before we begin. Maybe, we overthink the situation, and start to feel that Point A seems so very far from Point B. Therefore, we end up quitting before we even start.

Don’t get me wrong, I believe we need continue dreaming big and have lofty goals. At the same time, if we break that goal into smaller, manageable pieces, it’s more likely we will achieve success.

Take small steps every day. A reminder that all great things were not built in a day.

Going back to the goals mentioned above. A book is written by writing a few words, a few paragraphs a day. Rebranding your blog starts with sitting down and developing a strategy. Losing 20 lbs starts with signing up at the gym and going 2 or 3 times a week. I can start that travel fund by saving a few dollars from each paycheck. Or perhaps it’s taking on that part time job to help save even more money.

When we take small steps every day, we can look back at our progress and see how far we have come.

What are you taking small steps each day to achieve?  I’d love to hear about it in the comments!

I’m taking small steps to write a book. I too get caught up in how far the end result is from the starting point, it’s very overwhelming. So like you said, I try to take it a few words at a time.

  2. I completely agree and even recently wrote a post about focusing on the process and not the goal. I am working on getting my health coaching business known. I am working with some motivated women that rock, but I have room for more clients. So I am writing my blog, doing networking and talking to people. Small steps everyday.

So true! I have a lot of those same goals, and the to-do list seems endless sometimes! Thanks for sharing! #JoyHopeLive

  4. Yes, I definitely agree that it’s the small steps we take each day that will lead us to our goals, not big huge changes because they’re hard to do. We can all manage to do one little thing each day. Thanks for the reminder 🙂
