She Turned Her Can'ts Into Cans and Her Dreams into Plans

Happy Monday Folks!

How was your weekend? Give me the scoop! 🙂

Mine was once again fairly low key. My youngest is a soccer player, so  Saturday was spent at the local indoor soccer arena. Indoor soccer finishes up soon, and then outdoor soccer will start up in April. Here we are after the game:

Soccer practice done…now patiently waiting for supper. #IHOP #yql

Second weekend in a row that I had sushi. It was soooo good! Here’s my Instagram post:

My oldest had her school play practice all weekend. She has a part in the “Annie Jr.” play at her junior high school. She’s been quite busy over the last couple of weeks as opening night is next week. While she was at practice, I took my youngest to a pow wow. (That’ll be a post later this week)

Here’s today’s Monday Motivational:

Henry David Thoreau said, “Live the life you’ve imagined.”

I accept your challenge, sir, and I raise you a, “She turned her cant’s into cans and her dreams into plans.”

I’ve heard the word “no” more than I’ve heard “yes”. I’ve heard that I’m too short, not pretty enough, not fast enough, not quick enough,  too chubby, I’m a woman, or I just don’t have what it takes to get it done. I have a Type A personality, think those words ever stopped me?

I’m not really sure where I got my drive from, as I’ve been this way for as long as I can remember. I remember the boys telling me that I couldn’t run as fast as them, until the day I beat them running one mile in the shortest time. I was told that I wasn’t a good basketball player but I became one. I was told that my line of work is a man’s job but I found myself moving up the corporate ladder.

I wouldn’t be where I am if I listened to everyone telling me that I couldn’t do it. I believe that I can be anyone I want to be. I can achieve anything that I want. Those dreams I have, yup…you got it! Those dreams will come to fruition too.

For as many naysayers I’ve had in my life, I have some pretty amazing people to be there for support and cheer me on.  Remember yesterday’s analogy of the flat tire? (You can read that post here.) Just because there is one setback, doesn’t mean that your goals and dreams can’t be achieved.

Your Turn. What’s one thing that you never gave up, although you were told that you couldn’t do it?
