Instagram RoundUp – Best of July

Instagram RoundUp – Best of July

Waterton Adventures on a Saturday Afternoon

It’s Tuesday and the month of July is nearly over. I feel like I haven’t taken advantage of the summer months.

How about you? How is your summer going?

This past weekend, I was able to get some long overdue hiking in. I have always been an outdoor enthusiast. For me, being outdoors and enjoying nature is where I find peace and much-needed solitude. However, I don’t enjoy going alone, since moving here I haven’t found someone that enjoys it as much as I do.

So, Friday morning when I received a text from a friend asking if I would like to go to Waterton with her, I jumped at the chance to go.

Waterton Lakes National Park is a national park located in the southwest corner of AlbertaCanada, and borders Glacier National Park in MontanaUnited States.  (Wikipedia)

We decided that we would have a little more fun and try out geocaching. If you haven’t tried this activity, you’re missing out! It’s like treasure hunting for adults. Although, it’s really an all-ages activity.

I’ve posted a video below so that you can get an idea of what geocaching is, maybe it’s something that you will want to try too!

Our geocaching adventure started out at the Waterton Heritage Centre and took us all over town. The geocaches came in all different sizes. Some were found in tree stumps, birdhouse, and even in cracks in a rock formation.

Keep an eye out on my Facebook page and Instagram account and I’ll be posting pics soon! The scenery is breathtaking and it felt incredible to enjoy nature’s best for the day.

Finally Found Wally’s Beach

Living in Prince Edward Island for so many years, you get used to going to the beach all the time. At any given point, you were not more than 10 or 15 minutes away from the beach.

Having moved here two years ago, it’s been hard to find a good beach for swimming. However, I have heard a lot of people talk about Wally’s beach.

So on Sunday, I decided to take my sister’s offer and meet her and her family there. The night before, I looked up the location on Google maps. It looked easy enough to find until I started driving. I ended going past the turnoff, which took us to some back road. Finally entered it into the GPS, and found the beach a half hour later.

It was a pretty nice beach, it even had a sandy bottom. Most lakes around here are rocky. So I was quite pleased to see how nice it was there.

We had a ton of fun, swimming, playing frisbee in the water and laying out in the sun. It wasn’t until I got home that I noticed what a nasty sunburn that I had. Just a little bit pain!

  1. What beautiful photos. The photos alone are inspiring but your thoughts and quotes show care and passion. I really like the picture of the sunset over the sea. I love the ocean.
