Happy Monday Folks!

How was your weekend? Mine was fairly relaxing. The weekend included spending time with my two daughters. Saturday night, I met up with some Twitter peeps and we went bowling. (#yqltweetup). Here’s one of the group photos. (I’m in the back with the striped shirt and glasses)

Sunday afternoon, I met a friend for sushi. It was soooo good…here’s the Instagram post:

Today’s Monday Motivational Post

Today’s post comes out of frustration of reading my family and friend’s Facebook posts. It’s ok to have down days as everyone goes through arduous times. I can totally understand when someone needs to do a little venting on Facebook.

However, some days, I’m really tired of this social media site and I’ve come close to deleting my account on several occasions. What’s unnerving are the posts from people that are always complaining about their life. Their boyfriend/husband is an idiot, they feel stuck in their job, or worse they’re not happy. I want to scream and tell them “If you’re not happy, change! Do something today that will change your tomorrow!! If you’re not ready to change, stop complaining”.

“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” ~C.S. Lewis

Despite my shout outs, I do believe everyone has the power to create change in their life. No man or woman has EVER accomplished their goals, dreams or visions without first experiencing the hardships of the journey that led them to their final destination.  It took me a lot of trials and tribulations to understand that in order for me to have the life I want, I needed to make changes. I needed to do something different that would lead me in the direction I needed to go. I needed to find self-determination to move forward in uncharted waters.

So many of us are afraid of ourselves, of our own truth, and our feelings most of all.  We talk about how great the concepts of life and love are, but then we hide from both every day.

  • If there is no struggle, there is no progress”. Frederick Douglass

  1. Yet again another awesome post. Its funny because I myself have considered deleting my Facebook to avoid the bombardment of negativity. Its rather overwhelming at times. Instead I opted the option if not seeing posts from certain Debbie downers on my friends list lol… any ways one thing I’ve learned through my trials and tribulations was to get off the self pit
