Autumn Tag 2016 – Get to Know Me
“Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons.”
― Jim Bishop
Below is an autumn tag I found on a blog called Disease Called Debt.
Here’s how this tag works. Below are some questions about what Autumn means to you. If you’re a blogger who wants to join in the Autumn fun, then you can publish the questions and answers on your own blog linking back to her post here.

2016 Autumn Tag
1. What signifies the start of Autumn for you?
Autumn comes here quick where I live. We have so much wind that one day the leaves are lovely shades of red, orange and yellow and then the next minute the wind takes all the leaves off.
As much as I love the fall season, I dread when I have to turn my summer sandals in for socks and shoes. Seriously! I am a summer baby and try and wear my summer clothes for as long as I can.
But to answer the question, for me it’s the shorter days and there is a chill in the air that you know that the fall season is right around the corner!
2. What is your favourite Fall scent?
Oh, that’s a toss up! I would say it is between pumpkin spice or apples. I love anything pumpkin – pumpkin bread, muffins, or a pumpkin spice muffin. A study conducted by The Smell & Taste Treatment and Research Foundation found that 40 percent of the male test subjects responded positively to the scent when it was mixed with lavender.
And apples? When I lived in Prince Edward Island, we lived close to an apple orchard, and we would pick our own apples, take them home and make apple pies, or applesauce, apple cake, you name it. A 2008 study found that those who considered the apple scent appealing also had a noticeable ease in their headache symptoms and a shortened migraine episode, Prevention reported.
3. What is your favourite Autumn colour?
I love all the colours but the deeper colours, such as purple, burgundy and wine red would be my favourites. I have a poncho that is a deep colour and not only is cozy and comfortable but I think it looks good me!
4. What is your favourite Fall drink?
Honestly, I am pretty boring when it comes to the fancy drinks. I am a coffee or tea gal. Every now and then I will drink a cappuccino. I am still looking for a good coffee house that has a nice ambiance to it and where you’re not forced to leave. You can hang out there for the afternoon catching up on your blog and emails.
5. What TV show, new or old, are you looking forward to this Fall?
I am excited that a few of my shows are back: Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago PD, Blindspot, Dancing with the Stars, Big Bang Theory, and my guilty pleasure – the Real Housewives series.
The season’s new TV shows, I am really starting to like Pitch. I am having a hard time that the umpire on the show is Mark Paul Gossalear. I’ve had a crush on him ever since Saved By the Ball.
6. What is your favourite Fall fashion trend?
At one time, I knew what was in fashion and would be up-to-date with them in my wardrobe. The older that I get, I feel that I buy more practical clothes instead of the trendy ones. That being said, I do like my boots, leggings, and capes.
7. What is your favourite frugal Autumn activity?
When my daughters were younger we did al autumnal family outings. We attended festivals, carved pumpkins, going the corn maze. Unfortunately, now that the girls are getting older, they are starting to lose interest in those type of activities. Although, today I win! I am taking them the corn maze. And tonight, I am heading to a cemetery tour with a couple of friends. We had a ton of fun when we went last year. This might become a tradition as a girls night out.
8. What is your favourite makeup look come autumnal weather?
For the most part, I keep my makeup fairly neutral. When I want to dress up a bit, I will go with a darker lip shade. Every time I do, I always get the best compliments from the ladies at work.
Aaaaand that’s it! I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about my autumn favourites and getting to now me a little better.
Can you recommend any lipsticks for me to try? Do you know of any autumnal candles I can burn this season? Let me know in the comments below!
