A flower does not think of competing with the next flower

Fellow blogger Rebirth of Lisa has a weekly challenge called “Word Crush Wednesday

Each one of us have caught ourselves comparing ourselves to others. It’s hard not to, when you’re Facebook, Twitter, Instagram feeds are full of people’s accomplishments. They are posting about the weight they have lost, the trip they took, the activities they just came back from. In the end, it just causes us stress and anxiety.

“A flower does not think of competing with the next flower, it just blooms.”

Instead, we should focus on our own goals. The only person we need to compete with is ourselves, and no one else. All that matters, is that you’re moving forward to a bigger and better version of you.

  1. This is a great post. I love the quote as well. I think all too often we get lost in being better than the next or being who we think we should be as opposed to the beautiful people we are and were created to be

  3. Such a great quote. Sometimes I get so tired of the rat race and one person always trying to outshine or best another person. So often we can’t be content to just do the best we are capable of–we need to outshine someone else. Your quote evokes so many thoughts in me–I must stop lest I write a whole book.
